Outcast's Slayer Guide

A Simple Guide to becoming a Slayer

Statistical Guidance

Description of how each stat affects the Slayer class

Starting at level 20, each character gains 2 stat points per level to distribute between 5 stat choices. Vitality, Spirit, Strength, Intellect, and Dexterity. Please note that your equipment produce more statistical increases when compared to those increases you gain from each level. Therefore, the statistical increases you gain each level don't really play any major role when your character is fully geared. With that said, I recommend adding all stat points into dexterity to give your slayer a slight boost in accuracy, evasion, critstrikes, and keep in mind that some skills use your dexterity value to increase your damage output. If dexterity isn't the stat for you, check below to find a list of descriptions on how each stat affects the Slayer class; so choose wisely.

  • Vitality - Boosts Max HP and slightly accelerates Hp Regen
  • Spirit - Boosts Max Mana and slightly accelerates Mana Regen
  • Strength - Boosts Physical Attack and Accuracy
  • Intellect - Boosts Magic Attack and slightly improves Critstrike rate
  • Dexterity - Boosts Accuracy and slightly improves Critstrike rate and Evasion

Slayer Skills

Slayer skills by level

In order to upgrade a skill, you must first be at that skills required level. Then, in order to purchase a skills upgrade, you must have the experience and coin required to do so. Experience and coin requirements increase with every new skill level. When upgrading skills, remember to watch your mana usage. Increasing your skill level too quickly will result in not having the required mana to cast your skills. To solve this problem, I recommend upgrading every "Must have!" skill by 1 level every 10 character levels and leaving the "Aha, maybe later!" skills until late game.

"Aha, maybe later!" - Level these skills only when you can
"Must have" - Level these skills as soon as possible

  • Grim Visage - Aha, maybe later!
Increase your Critstrike rate by 'X%' and your Evasion by 'X%' for 15 seconds.

Skill Combos

A combination of skills

Below is a list of skill combinations I found to work great. You may want to tweak these combinations a bit more to your liking but they seem to do well for me. To move to the next stage of combos, simply obtain the skills needed to complete the combo.

STAGE ONE:
Arrow Blade >> Bonebite >> Run >> Repeat

STAGE TWO
Arrow Blade >> Lunge >> Blind >> Bonebite >> Run >> Repeat

STAGE THREE:
Arrow Blade >> Lunge >> Blind >> Bonebite >> Tusk Strike >> Trap >> Attack >> Obfuscate >> Run >> Repeat

STAGE FOUR:
Arrow Blade >> Lunge >> Blind >> Bonebite >> Tusk Strike >> Crush >> Trap >> Attack >> Obfuscate >> Run >> Repeat

STAGE FIVE:
Shadow Curse >> Arrow Blade >> Lunge >> Blind >> Bonebite >> Tusk Strike >> Crush >> Trap >> Soul Burn >> Obfuscate >> Run >> Repeat

As you can see, the idea is to sneak in, hit fast, and vanish before retaliation.

Slayer Pets

Pets for the Slayer Class

Generally, I find the the best pets for almost any class are the DEX/INT pets and/or the DEX/STR pets. Critrate growth for dexterity pets is through the roof. And if you pick up a Dexterity pet with a mood of either Naughty, Reckless, or Excited, your pet is sure to make the most of it's DPS.
  • Naughty - Increases attack rate by 15%
  • Reckless - Increases Critstrike rate by 3%
  • Excited - Increases physical attack and magic attack by 5%

Note that dexterity and intellect both increase Critrate, thus being the logical choice when choosing a dexterity based pet. So in my opinion, Dexterity/Intellect pets for the win!

Slayer's Equipment

Equipment for the Slayer

As a Slayer, HP, Dex, Attack Rate %, Critical Hit Rate %, and Evasion serve the most importance. When farming or buying equipment, these five modification are what you are looking for. Additionally, there are several sets of equipment you can obtain. Each completed set adds additional modifications depending on how many pieces of the set you are wearing. There are also two types of equipment sets, Standard sets and Soul Gear.

Standard sets are obtainable with "Stamps of Promotion." Standard sets are not quite as strong as Soul Gear but are well worth it until you obtain your Soul Gear. To acquire "Stamps of Promotion," you must complete the "Prison" instance in Atlantis. You can complete the "Prison" instance up to five time per day and receive up to six "Stamps of Promotion" per run. There are currently five levels of standard equipment sets obtainable at levels 30, 45, 60, 75, and 90.

Soul Gear now is another story. The only way to purchase Soul Gear is through another player. Other then that, Soul Gear is dropped during your travels. Currently, there is only four levels of Soul Gear obtainable at levels 45, 60, 75, and 90.

In Conclusion

The End

In conclusion, I hope my outlook on the slayer class has been informative to many of you and I wish everyone the best of luck with their Slayer builds.
