Gear

1. Main thing important on attack Mage to get first is staff. This again depends on your build. There are bunch of builds for Mages, but I assure you, you do not want paper build, because you'll die very fast. Has too low AC, HP is fine though. So, G3 should be fine with a Chaotic/Scorching staff, they are not high and you can even find +8 ones on market sometimes. If you go Shell build get Hell blood/Elysium. Of course you can use 70+ staffs, but you might not be able to afford them.

2. Next thing to get is the jewels, hence these are 2nd most important for attacker. Get your rings first.. which will be either Flame/Imir ring. You could even only use one Flame ring and use a ROL. I've seen some Mages do that to tank/deal DMG and it isn't bad, I've done it myself, but if you want to deal just plain DMG get 2 of them. I would advise you get +1 minimum but some cant afford it so w/e Posted Image Now next get your belt, go go glass belt or iron again, if cant afford them get skeleton or something with wep def that's cheaper. Next will be your pendant, most attacker Mages use IN or EP same as support.. yep IN is expensive but u get the point why I said to use EP. Finally your earrings...same as support also one SSE and one cleric earring, do not use Mage Earring before you ask...it sux and worthless to use.

3. Now for the armors. This depends on your build, but in my opinion best build for attacker-Mage is G3. You have fair amount of AC/HP and pretty good amount of MP. Of course with this build you cannot use Elysium/Hell blood and 70+ staff. So, you will have to use Scorching/Chaotic. Do not use Erenions for attack build, you won't do much DMG. You can also go Shell build...+7 is fine or +8 for those who can afford. You may not hit as hard with Shell but can have pretty good AC. With Shell build you'll most likely want to use Hell blood/Elysium. You definitely want to get a DD helmet.

4. You may want to get a shield too, but since you're an attacker and want highest MP possible, only get a SS +0 which requires you to add only 1 STR. If you have CS, use it to. You have to be fast on switching shields.

Stats

Alright time for the stats now.

This depends upon your gear once again, but add enough for INT, 1 STR for shield and RES then rest in MP. If you want some in HP you can do that too, but I only suggest adding 10 or so.

Skills/Skill bar
This is almost exact same as support skills and skill bar. Add all that you can in master. Rest in your main set of skills an w/e your 2nd choice of skills will be. My skill bar looked like this:
  • Novas on first bar with Teleport, MP/HP pots.
  • 2nd bar: Main high dealing DMG skills, Gate, Teleport, MP/HP pots
  • 3rd/4th skill bar: Other skills (along with ice or light), Teleport and MP/HP pots. Last bar I always used for scrolls, res casts 75 armor and absolute power.

You do not have to do these bars there my bars that i use, but you do need to put Teleport and MP/HP pots on same number on every bar!

PK Tactics
I have more useful information for PK for this build what should help you. It always helped me and I have become one of the best Mages on many private servers an was one of best at Diez.

1. Once again always keep a eye on your party's health bar. TPing is even important as attack Mage. You will die if your party does not stay alive.
Most attack Mages think they don't have to TP just cause they are attackers.

2. Use useful skills wisely as in instant magic, blink, Vampiric fire and light shock. If your HP goes low, let's say your at 20%, cast Vampiric fire and you're going to jump up 50%. Once you cast that the guy's MP is basically gone and you've won. If too much pressure is on you or your party is dying, Blink away to save your ass or save your party's ass. Light shock is helpful in Mage parties. Light Mage always goes first; casts light shock and then light/ice novas.

3. Once again if your dying TP a tank to tank for you or TP your priest for heals. Don't be an idiot and sit and die when you have one of most useful skills in game - Teleport.

4. You will do highest DMG on Priests and Rogues. So always stay on them.

5. If you do a Mage party and you're fire, let ice or light Mages nova first then you can nova along with fire Mages. In Mage party you always have to organize. Make one Mage as the TPer/re-grouper.

FAQ
1. If I am paper stat-wise, when should I go INT if i choose to do so?
My answer to that is 72+ simply because you're gonna have a hard hitting attack now, and more AC/HP.

2. What is the best combo for Mage?
Obviously this depends on situation. It's similar to a Warrior's combo. If opponent is running from you hold down W. This way you'll stay locked on him/her. For versus W/R or S/R seems to be fastest, and also S/R can really mess up people who use R/R combo. Hold down S slightly longer than VS Archers. Don't ever slide as Mage even if you're getting hit hard. That's just noobish and you will have more respect tanking.

3. What is best for support ice, light, or fire ?
Common sense, fire is not going to be support build. Ice is by far best for support, you do not need to have DMG as ice Mage and the lvl 80 skill owns.

4. Which build is most expensive?
I would say support build is, since you need so much things, you can make pretty hard hitting attack Mage with low cash.
